MechAssault 2 Auto Update News
Today we have received information from Day 1 and FASA on the upcoming MA2 Auto Update and the issues it will fix. The following items will be addressed by the Auto Update, which is currently in the final stages of testing:
- Mixed up spawns: Players will no longer spawn in the wrong base.
- Lobby: You will not be able to walk through the walls of the Ready Room anymore.
- Proving Grounds: Gates will no longer get stuck closed in this map.
- Pilot Bomb: Sometimes players were not able to see each other's pilot bombs or their explosions. This has been fixed—bombs away!
- Good news for lefties: The Southpaw control set is being added to MA2.
- Conquest improvements: In order to reduce griefing, Conquest players must now wait 72 hours before switching Houses. We have also modified the Conquest matchmaking UI screen to help players get into a match more easily.
- We removed the "Defend" option from the UI. The "Reinforce" option will display all potential matches now..
- The matchmaking screen now shows you the number of attacking, defending, and total slots for each match found.
- We also changed the way points are assigned to Houses that defend planets, which will make that option more attractive.
- The wait is over: You will no longer get stuck in the "Waiting for other players" screen.
- Invitations fixed: Those players with a full Friends list can now invite others into a game.
- Suicide matters: Killing yourself now has a stiffer penalty to your score.
- Bailers beware: If you bail out in combat, your enemy can destroy your 'Mech for full points. Also, abandoned 'Mechs will now drop salvage if destroyed.

When will the Auto Update be released?
We know you are all dying to know, but we are unable to give you an exact date yet. We will make another post as soon as the schedule is nailed down.
