Rainbow Six 3 Strategies and Maps

    Thanks to
    RockFisch

    Airport 1 Strategies

    Spawns

Airport 1 spawns are pretty much even. There is not one that gives you an advantage over the other. The green spawn starts you by the stairs and the red spawn outside the hanger by the trucks.

    Weapons

This is a pretty importiant choice on this map. Depending on which way you go from your spawn may influence which weapons you choose. If you decide your going to head out to the tarmac, somthing with some range on it would be a good bet, I prefer the G3A3 if I am going to hit the tarmac first. If I am going to storm the hanger or office space, I choose a smaller gun that fires off quickly for those close firefights. My personal fav is the Tar, but you can choose pretty much anything you like. It might be a good round for a remote mine, you can catch people coming thru doorways pretty easy in this level.

    Kill Zones

This map has 2 kill zones. The main kill zone is the small hallway between the two spawns. You will see over 50% of the people who get fragged in this level get wasted there. The other killzone is at each end of the hanger on the outside. People general rush from the start and try to get to these corners so they own that half of the airfield. So if your going to the tarmac, watch out for the opposite corner!

    Hiding Spots

This map hardly ever ends in a tie, its too small with very little hiding space. Most people hide either in the hanger, the office next to the hanger that is adjacent to the lower hall or behind the crates that are in the overhand area on the side of the field that is the green spawn. If your looking for people, look there.

    Airport 2 Strategies

    Spawn

Neither spawn in airport 2 has much of an advantage over the other. Green spawn has a very large courtyard with many hiding spaces where as the Red spawn has more entry points. Most of the action ends up in the buildings or the grassy side of the building.

    Weapons

If you ar planning on going to the grassy area you should take some time of long range weapon like the PSG or the G3A3. If your like me you hate going to the grassy area and would much rather take a short range weapon like the FAMAS to the garage or offices. Picking the weapons that you are familiar with using is the best way to get those kills you need.

    Kill Zones

The biggest kill zone I think in this map is the long grassy area. It is the most open shooting range between the red and green spawn. Another kill zone is the upper office in the garage. if somebody on the opposite team gets through there he will have you flanked.

    Hiding spots

The dumpster in the green spawn is a typical hiding spot for alot of people as well as the the bushes in the red spawn. Under the stairs (either Set of stairs) in the green spawn and the upstairs above the garage coming from either spawn. If you want to finish people off try looking in these places.

    Carnival Strategies

    Spawn

If there is any advantage to the spawns in carnival its a small one. But it would have to go to the Red spawn because it can go up to the top floor without being exposed vs the Green spawn that has to climb the ladder and then cross the top of the building.

    Weapons

This is a pretty large map, so long range weapons are not a bad choice here. You will end up shoot across the map or down a long hallway in this map alot. Frag grenades are almost a must in this level so you can throw one around a corner and clear it out before you get around it.

    Killzones

There are 3 kill zones in this map. The first is the stairwell that is directly in front of the Green spawn. It is usually a race to see which team can get there first to start lobbing grendades. Be very careful when going to this part of the map. The second kill zone is the tunnel that goes under the building. At the begining of the map teams usually split into 2 groups, and one of them get sent to this area to meet head to head with the other team. The last kill zone is the top floor. Its a long hallway and the 2 teams generally sit at either end and try to own the top floor, use extreme caution before you pop your head up there.

    Hiding Spots

Not too many hiding spots on this map. Both spawns are decent hiding places, and the under the stairwell by the Green spawn. Even though this is a larger map, it hardly ever ends in a draw because there is no good spot to hide.

    City Streets Strategies

    Spawns

Both of the spawns in this level are even. The walkways may be different underneath but it takes the same amount of time to get to the box room. The upstairs in each spawn have the same amount of windows and hiding spots.

    Weapons

This map requires long range weapons if you decide to stay topside. I prefer the G3A3 when I am upstairs but when you get to the box room a short range G36C a TAR or a FAMAS are very useful. This is one of those maps where taking your best weapon would be a good idea.

    Kill zones

The windows in the top of each spawn are major kill zones when you first start the Map. The other major kill zone is the box room. over 50% of the team usually runs strait to the box room thtas why it's a major kill zone.

    Hiding Spots

Hiding SpotsThe red and green spawn are great hiding spots because they both have only one entrance. The yellow box room downstairs is also another good hiding spot for the last person left. The last hiding spots for players to go are the tan and gray buildings out in the courtyard.

    Close Quarter Strategies

    Spawns

The spawns are basically the persons opinion on which they like best. The red spawn is up top, where you control the maze-looking room. The Green spawn is below where you have the choice to reach almost everywhere first.(except the maze room)

    Weapons

Its smart to get a close-range-shooting gun. You hardly ever have to use you scope if you have a long range one, since the map is designed to where its so bunched up.

    Kill zones

Upstairs of the main central room is where the main stuff happens. You have to shoot the people down on the other side of it. The next spot is the entrances into the red-spawn area. Right as you go through the hall leading toward or out of the red spawn, you are likely to start fighting someone.

    Hiding Spots

Its smart to not hide downstairs, even though its perfectly designed for it. You can (at some point) get shot from upstairs. So try to find one upstairs, like to the side of the boxes up top in the maze room.

    Garage Strategies

    Spawn

Most people would agreet that this level does have an advantage on spawn. When you spawn on the Green side you can control 2/3 of the map because you usually get control of the entire show room with half your team, and the other half can control the back garage up to the long hallway. You can then watch the doorways and know where the whole Red team is. It does not mean you automatically have lost if you get the Red spawn, your just gonna havta work it.

    Weapons

This is a pretty small map. There are only 2 places that you are going to need a long range shot, long hallway and showroom enterance. You only need a long shot in the showroom enterance when your shooting from or to the Red spawn from the showroom. Also, some people like to snipe from the upper floors in the showroom, but a smaller gun works well there too. Other than that you get cramped up so you may want to stay with the smaller, faster guns.

    Kill Zones

The 2 kill zones in Garage are either end of the long hallway, and both enterances to the showroom. These are the bottlenecks of the level and you have to go thru one of them to get to the other team. Most people know this, so they are both kill zones.

    Hiding Spots

Good spots to hide in Garage are the offices in the back garage, the offices in the show room and the top of the stairwell at the back of the showroom.

    Import/Export Strategies

    Spawn

Import export doesn't have one spawn better than the other. coming from redspawn or from green spawn means you have to move fast to get position. Usually whoever gets their first is going to win.

    Weapons

This is a very open map so getting a long range weapon is very useful. Runing around outside with a G3A3 is a good choice. Getting to the other side of the road with a PSG is another. If you are going to try to keep the other team in their spawn use a short range weapon and you should do really well.

    Kill Zones

One of the kill zones is upstairs near the red spawn. Everbody seems to rush into that room to get off the first kill. The other major kill zone is outside by the red spawn lower level door. whoever wins the race outside is going to get a good amount of kills.

    Hiding Spots

Import has alot of places to hide. The main hiding spots are in the two spawns under the stairs. another place is in the lower room by green spawn. Don't let yourself be seen though or you are dead because it's hard to run from those spots when someone is shooting at you.

    Meat Packing Plant Strategies

    Spawn

Each spawn starts out in a room with three exits. Each to the long hallway, upstairs, and to the big room. The green spawn starts in the big cooler, from there you can go up stairs, into the big room, or to the long hallways.I see that the green spawn does most of the rushing, like going upstairs and to the big room and one person in the long hallways. From the top they can shoot below and throw nades so watch out.now the red spawn it seem that more players sit back and camp because its a more open spawn and its easier to shot with the angles. One person can watch the room at the end of the long hallways.players can go upstairs to shot and nade it and maybe stop the othe team from doing the same from the other side down the walkway. If you can from uptop, go through which whatever way the other team then maybe you can surprise them in their spawn.

    Weapons

This map is mostly mid to short but there may be some longer range so maybe the best weapon would be the G3A3 it has good range for the map, packs a nice lil punch just in case you get up close.Another weapon would be the Famas a good all around weapon, nice accuracy, great upclose, if you like to use the scope this gun doesnt zoom a great deal so that will help if your upclose. If you plan to stay back or come after the first flank you might want to try the 100 round fury.

    Kill Zone

The Major kill zone on this map is in the big pump room and upstairs above the pumps. There is also a Kill Zone in the long hallwayfor the first couple of minutes of the round.

    Hiding Spots

There are a few hiding spots in the map. One is upstairs in the offices and another is behind boxes in the big room. Players could be hiding in their spawn behind semi-closed doors,to wait for the unknowing poor victim to pass.

    Link to map

    Old City Strategies

    Spawn

This map has the biggest advantage/disadvantage in spawn points. Green spawn point is by far more of an advantage to have vs the Red spawn. The Green spawn is on the second floor of a building while the Red spawn is in the basement of another. Green spawn can shoot out windows to almost every exit of the Red spawn. And if you try to come over to the Green spawn building from the Red spawn you have to put yourself into harms way. It is not impossible to win by far, but it is the most lopsided spawn in the game.

    Weapons

Unless your sniping from the Green spawn you will have better luck with a mid to short range weapon. Grendades are also usefull if your in the Green spawn. As soon as you start, run to the balcony and start throwing grenades towards the back of the Red spawn. You can get alot of easy frags using this tatic. Also, remote charges behind doors are great in this level since there are alot of rooms to travel thru.

    Kill Zones

There are not too many kill zones in this level. If there are any, its the exits towards the Green spawn from the Red. This is because Red has the overhead shot. If you just be patient and wait for awhile you usually can make your way around since players tend to abandon their post if they do not see anyone for awhile.

    Hiding Spots

There are some great hiding spots in this level. One is in the basement of the Red spawn underneath the stairs. Another is in the basement of the Green spawn behind the desk. Also, the Green spawn room has some desks in it, and you can get a great place to hide and take shots in there. One more great site that is used is in the courtyard, under the long hallway from the Green spawn. There is a overhang there with barrels, an excellent place to hide.

    Link to guide

    Link to map

    Peaks Strategies

    Spawns

This map is wide open. Both spawns are equal. Red spawns side runs downhill and green spawns side runs uphill.

    Weapons

This map for the most part requires you to use a long range weapon. The PSG and The G3A3 are great to run and find a high point to shoot from. You can still use the short range weapons but they are not as useful

    Kill Zones

In this map Kill zones are hard to find. Up under the bridge on the higher part of the map to the left of green spawn seems to be the closest thing to a kill zone in the map.

    Hiding Spots

To the right of green spawn their is a small bridge that could be considered a hiding spot but the map is so big and open It is hard to find a place to hide. It's more usefull to just keep moving because you will eventually see someone.

    Presidio Strategies

    Spawn

This is another map where the spawn points are pretty even. It depends more on personal choice than one is better than the other. My personal choice is the Green spawn, you have more directions you can to off the bat to confuse your enemy. The Red spawn is more of the attack spawn and they will come at you from 4 different directions. Since I am not much of an attacker I prefer the Green spawn.

    Weapons

This map is really about weapon of choice. There is a nice mix of distance shooting as well as up and close run and gun. Primary weapons funciton the best here, grenades and remote charges can be used, but its close enough quarters your really going to open yourself up to a quick attack if you pay too much attention to these items.

    Kill Zone

There really is no kill zone in this map, more a kill time. The first 30 seconds of this map is crazy and you may want to just find a nice place to chill for a bit before you go out. At the begining of the map there is alot of distance shooting, so if you have a close range weapon you will want to stay in a good spot. After the first minute or so, it turns into a hunting game and close range weapons are great.

    Hiding Spots

This is a pretty small map, there are very few draws. But if your going to hide here are a few good places. Under either set of stairs, the very back courtyard and upstairs in either of the 2 rooms. Dont expect to stay in any one of the these places for more than a minute or so, most people know of these spaces.

    Link to guide

    Link to map

    Scharins Strategies

    Spawn

Both spawns are pretty far from each other. The red spawn is inside, where there are many catwalks to watch, or your dead. In green spawn, you have the huge ladder, and stairs leading to catwalks, so make sure that you own the catwalks on this spawn.

    Weapons

If you plan on going on the catwalks, then use something short-range like a famas, Tar, or M4. If you plan on staying back in the red spawn, get a long range gun like the G3A3 because your probably going to be shooting all the way across the room. And yes, the rooms are HUGE.

    Kill Zone

One major kill zone is in red spawn, when you go up the stairs, there is a window behind you that they may be there. If you team isn’t watching there, they will probably be waiting there to shoot you. One other spot is the huge room that leads to the Green spawn. Red will be at the far left corners, or possible the top catwalks if they get by. So always watch both areas.

    Hiding Spots

Well… There’s way to much to count! If you want to hide, a good spot is in the vents near the red spawn. You should watch the ladder, because you have the first shot if they even think about coming up. Another one is in the door-looking entrance into the spiral staircase. Right under there is a good spot to camp because hardly anyone goes in there after the first minute or so.

    Link to guide

    Link to map

    Training Strategies

    Spawns

The spawns in this map are very small. Red spawn has the go up fast stairwell to get a good sniping position. The green spawn has a large back yard and a ladder to go up top inside the building.

    Weapons

This is a great long range map. Use the G3A3 or the PSG to take out almost everybody on the other team. For you really sneaky people just sit back and wait until the rite moment to move in for a short range kill

    Kill Zones

This whole map is a kill zone. There isn't really any perticular place where everybody dies. no matter where you run somebody is probably aiming and shooting at you.

    Hiding Spots

If you evr become the last person left on your team. Do not try to look for a good place to hide. Just keep moving and keep your eyes open.

    Link to guide

    Link to map

    Warehouse Strategies

    Spawn

Warehouse is actually one of the largest levels on the map, made up of alot of small levels put together. The only time there is a long area is when you go from one building to another, and most people just duck and run between the 2 so there is not much fighting going on. This makes it to where one spawn has no real advantage than the other spawn. Its personal preference and how the team takes advantage of the spawn point

    Weapons

Small faster firing weapons are good in this level even though it is large. As pointed out before there are many small areas so that is where most of your fighting will go. Since there are alot of doors and small areas grendades are useful, as well as a remote charge if you decide your going to be defensive and hole up.

    Kill zones

Since this map is so large and spread out there are not really many kill zones. The closest thing to one you will find is the box room above the Green spawn. That is typcally where people go and your almost sure to find a firefight there. There are many exploding barrels in this level, so be sure to be cautious or take advantage of them if the time is right.

    Hiding Spots

There are too many in this level to list! One great place is outside behind the Red spawn building. Very few people go into this area since it is not directly betweent the buildings so it makes it a very usefull place to plant yourself. There are also crates and doors to hide behind on every level. This map turns into a draw almost half the time we play it, so be prepared to sit for awhile.
